Learn to Skate

The Learn-to-Skate program is for skaters who have never skated before or have never had formal skating lessons. The target age range is 3-6. Those above this range are suggested to join CanSkate. Skaters will learn to stand up unassisted, moving forwards unassisted, and have an introduction to gliding and balance in a fun play-orientated environment.

Canskate

The CanSkate program was developed by experts and is taught across the country at all Skate Canada Clubs. It is designed for beginners of all ages and focuses on fun, participation, and basic skill development. Skaters work through the program at their own rate while earning badges and learning fundamental skills. The CanSkate program is led by NCCP certified professional coaches and aided by trained Program Assistants. The skills learnt in the CanSkate program can be applied to all ice sports such as Figure Skating, Hockey, Ringette, Speed Skating, and Curling.
